Colorado Shooting

The latest massacre broke new ground so to speak, inside a safe place, a movie theater. A sanctuary of fantasy turns into frightening reality.

We’re trapped,

darkness,

confusion,

can’t breathe,

gun shots,

never stop,

terror,

blood,

screaming,

death,

children me,

murdered!

The question I ask God is, “What do we do when suddenly we’re in hell?” Doesn’t matter if the hell is on earth or literally hell. What can we do?

Answer:

Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (NIV).

Romans 10:13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.” (NASB).

1 Corinthians 1:2 “I include in my greeting all who call out to Jesus, wherever they live.” (MSG).

Acts 7:59 As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” (NLT).

Psalms 55:16 But I call to God, and the LORD saves me (NIV).

Acts 16:18 She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned round and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her (NIV).

Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ (NIV).

John 20:31 But these are written so that you may continue to believed that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name (NLT).

Criticism

People would like you more if you got a new hair-do.”  “Your hair-do looks awful!”  “That outfit makes you look fat.”  “The clothes you wear make you look too skinny.”  “Don’t let yourself go bald!”  “I got you this anti-aging cream because you need it.”  “You know, it would be good for you to get out and so stuff more.”  “Why don’t you stay home more often?”

Q: What does the Lord of the Bible have to say about criticism?

The majority of people in this mean, cruel world are critics. They criticize you, me and everyone except themselves.  I ran a search on Net.Bible.org using the word “criticize” and to my surprise numerous scriptures came up.  Here are just a few.

Answer:

Matthew 7:1Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults–unless, of course, you want the same treatment (MSG).

Matthew 7:3 It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. 7:4 Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? 7:5 It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a wash cloth to your neighbor (MSG).

2 Corinthians 8:20 We take this course so that no one should blame us about this generous gift that is being administered by us (ESV).

Romans 14:16 So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil (ESV).

Job 6:25 How painful are honest words! But what do your arguments prove (NIV)?

Psalm 119:39 Take away the insults that I dread! Indeed, your regulations are good (NET).

1 Corinthians 9:3 This is my defense to those who examine me (NET).

Romans 14:13 Forget about deciding what’s right for each other.  Here’s what you need to be concerned about: that you don’t get in the way of someone else, making life more difficult than it already is (MSG).

Job 40:2 “Do you still want to argue with the Almighty?  You are God’s critic, but do you have the answers?” (NLT).

Isaiah 29:24 Those who stray morally will gain understanding; those who complain will acquire insight (NET).

James 2:4 have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives? (NASB).

Numbers 12:1 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married (NASB).

Mark 14:6 But Jesus said, Let her be; why are you troubling her?  She has done a kind act to me (BBE).

My analysis: Biblical interpretations use these words as synonyms for criticism.

Criticism = pick on, jump on, criticize their faults, judge, blame, contempt, sneer, ugly sneer, evil, arguments, insults, examine, deciding what’s right for each other, argue, complain, judges with evil motives, speak against, trouble

The synonyms reek of negativity!

Yesterday, I decided that I needed to put God first by adding to this blog.  I spent most of the day, all of the night (I’m a night owl) and this afternoon but none of it has felt like work.  The time has flown by, I’ve eaten very little yet I do not feel hungry or weak, in fact, I feel quite good!  I don’t want to stop not even to take breaks although, I have.  I never thought it would feel good!Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait for the Lord’s helpfind renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings, they run without growing weary, they walk without getting tired.

John 4:31-34 Meanwhile the disciples were urging him,“Rabbi, eat something.”32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” 33 So the disciples began to sayto one another, “No one brought him anythingto eat, did they?”34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of the one who sent meand to completehis work.

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

John 6:55-56For my flesh is truefood, and my blood is truedrink. 56 The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him.

I can tell you that it’s all TRUE!!!  When we do God’s work we do not starve or become tired!
