God Isn’t Fair

Q: Did God give some people wealth so they could flaunt it and look down there noses at those who are poor?

One day, I received the answer.

2 Corinthians 9:11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

1 Timothy 6:17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.

Proverbs 22:9 A generous person will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.

Proverbs 11:24 One person is generous  and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should  and comes to poverty.  11:25 A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied.  11:26 People will curse the one who withholds grain, but they will praise the one who sells it.

Hebrews 13:16 And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

A:  God gave wealth to some people so they would generously give to those who don’t have what they need.  So it’s not God being unfair, it’s those of us who have but don’t give!  Many of us still haven’t learned this.

How To Get A Miracle

I know a woman who has been in and out of the hospital for about a month now.  She has been unable to eat or drink, walk or take care of her basic physical needs.  A week ago, they put her in ICU.  Doctors kept changing their diagnoses and treatments without improvement.  Earlier this week, doctors told her that she was in serious trouble and if she didn’t get better quickly there was nothing else they could do.

It looked like the end, as a matter of fact, I thought it was the end.

She asked people to pray to God for a noticeable improvement in the morning.  Many people did so and the very next day she began feeling better.  She could eat regular food again, quickly regained her strength and was walking on her own.  Doctors moved her out of ICU to a regular care room and today she is going home!

She asked God for something crazy and rather selfish like, improved health the next day and God answered her prayers with a major, “YES”.  This woman’s no Girl Scout either but she believes that God exists and wants her to be healed.  That’s how you get a miracle.

Hebrews 11:6 It’s impossible to please God apart from faith.  And why?  Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists [and] that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.
