TV Miracle

On 8/4/13 God worked a miracle in my life. He healed me of a frightening nerve pain in my arm and hand while

The suprascapular, axillary, and radial nerves.

watching TV. The man said someone is being healed right now in the arm and pointed to the exact area on my arm where the pain originated!

I’ve told people who I know what happened. Most believe me, one or two don’t but are polite about it. I understand their unbelief because I NEVER believed that any miracle took place when people on TV said things like that. “Some one has just been healed while watching this show. Your back has been hurting you for years and now you can move pain free.” I thought, “Why do they do that? They don’t need to, they have a lot of money already. They’re saying good Biblical things, they don’t have to interrupt they’re message and do that.” It made me doubt that God ever healed. Now, I know that it is real. Not everyone is legit, that’s been proven but some are.

One man asked, “If you didn’t believe that people got healed watching TV why were you watching the show?”  Fair question and I answered him, “The show is interesting.”  He still didn’t really believe me but that’s okay.  Just hearing about such a thing makes us think more about God.

Why did God heal me? I don’t know. I didn’t even ask him to heal my arm but I’m so glad He did. Many of us can believe there is a God but we have trouble believing that He cares about us. This is evidence for me that God does care for all of us and me. Jesus cares about you too. He wants to heal you but you have to let him.

Here’s the show!  When he points to his arm and says, “Someone is being healed.” that’s me!!!  Sid Roth July 29 – Aug 4, 2013

Is The Bible Too Old

Many people discount the Bible as being too old to be reliable, although, people are quick to fall for “ancient secrets” of various historical empires and religions. Is there any hard factual evidence to support anything in the Bible? Jesus said in Luke 19:40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

This is now happening, in fact, the stones have been crying out for about 150 years. Archeology, as a formal discipline, is only 150 years old and has been used as a way to prove the Bible wrong. However, the opposite has occurred. Archaeological evidence has been proving the Bible to be correct and authentic by thousands more than any other ancient manuscript.

In “The Case For Christ” Lee Strobel documents how archeologists discovered places, artifacts and papyri that prove the existence of things mentioned in the Bible. Just a few archeological discoveries that were once thought to be errors of Bible writers until someone found them in the dirt are; “Jacob’s Well” John 4:12, “Pool of Bethesda” in John 5:1, “Pool of Siloam” in John 9:7, “the Stone Pavement near the Jaffa Gate” in John 19:13 and the census of Luke 2:2.

Before you discount Lee Strobel’s work keep in mind that he started researching as an Atheist who was determined to reveal the Bible as a completely false, man made religion. The deeper his research took him the more it proved the Bible to be true and it completely changed how Mr. Strobel thought about God and he became a believer.

Is there really no historical evidence of the Egyptian plagues? The Ipuwer Papyrus sheds light on a particularly dark time in Egypt’s history.

Ahlcindo.blogspot.com explains that “there exists an ancient Government papyrus in which the Egyptian Scribal Priest {Ipuwer} presents a lengthy diatribe to the Pharaoh (who certainly is the cause of the Plagues) and in general laments a series of catastrophes that have shaken the core of the nation. The Papyrus of the scribal priest Ipuwer describes the final acts in the downfall of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt”.

Ipuwer writes about the blood, destroyed crops and trees, dead animals and people, darkness, fire, starvation and valuables taken by slaves. Very similar accounts found in Exodus.

Lest we never forget those good ol’ Dead Sea Scrolls dating from 250 BC to AD 68. It contains copies of Isaiah that are verbatim – no errors, omissions, additions, misinterpretations or misspellings. As far as ancient documents goes, that’s like a photocopy from the daily newspaper!

FaithFacts.org lists a few rock hard discoveries that support Biblical truth.

Actually, when it comes to ancient texts the Bible is more reliable than others that are rarely challenged. Such as Homer’s Iliad which is estimated to have been written around 800 BC but the earliest manuscripts are from the second century AD, a thousand years later (Strobel p62).

Jesus was right. His people kept quiet so now the stones are crying out that Jesus is God!

Hate

Recently, I left a building where many of the people can be described as hateful. Most of them are of the same race but not all and it doesn’t matter what that race is, they are simply filled with hate. At first, I thought it was just me they hated but I’ve learned these folks don’t discriminate against race, ethnicity, gender or age. They hate everyone who they don’t like!

A while back, I asked God to open my eyes to what he wanted me to see. I didn’t tell Him what to show me only to show me what He wanted me to see whatever that was. Over time, He answered my prayer. Where I once had suspicion if a person was honest with me now I could see deceit with my natural vision. It was literally  through my peripheral vision that I could see people’s facial expressions change from being ordinary, business like or friendly to sneering, clenched teeth and despising me. Little glimpses whenever they thought I couldn’t see them.  One was almost growling at me, however, I felt no fear at the time. I’ll be honest, later I did feel fear when I thought about them.

These people had no logical reason to hate me because I didn’t give them any. I did my job like I was supposed to, kept to my self and made myself pleasant to work with by using “please” and “thank you”. But God continued to show me how these people were seething with hatred. Interestingly, I was not the only object of hatred. These hateful people spent a great deal of time hating others of the same race, gender and economic background as themselves.

Eventually, I learned that these hateful people had a history of harassing anyone who they really wanted gone. They wrote up one woman for every mistake she made big and small and she was new on the job. The people in this building are audacious in their evil ways. I saw documents where they committed an illegal act for which they will be audited. A coworker told me how he kept all of his emails and notes for protection because a few of these people would open his files that were saved on the shared drive and changed his work.

Anaclasis – A Haunting Gospel of Malice & Hatred

To top it off, most of these hateful people went to church and they brought many of their  church ways to work. One day, we were sitting a table waiting for a meeting to start and one started saying, “Jesus”. Then another after her and then another. It was more like, “Jeeeeessssuuuuusssssssssss”! These women were not genuinely saying the name of Jesus in thankfulness or glorification but it was more like a competition. Almost like, “I can say it better than you… I’m more holy than you are.” It was most strange.

One of the many criticisms of the Bible is that God doesn’t condemn hatred. So I asked the question, “What does the Bible say about hatred?”

Proverbs 10:18  The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.

If you attempt to hide your hatred you also tell lies so hatred and lying go together.

Psalms 109:3  With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause. In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer. They repay me evil for good, and hatred for my friendship.

1 John 4:20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

This clearly applies to people who claim to love God, not unbelievers.

1 John 2:9 Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.

God tells us that hatred has no cause and it’s there ready to attack and accuse us. Hateful people don’t care how good we treat them, they dish out evil anyway. God tells us the answer to their hatred is to pray! Pray for what?

Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Pray for their souls. I know, that’s not what I wanted to read either.

Proverbs 15:17 A bowl of vegetables with someone you love is better than steak with someone you hate.

Here’s a warning not to even eat a good meal with a hateful person.

Galatians 5:19 Now, the effects of the corrupt nature are obvious: illicit sex, perversion, promiscuity, idolatry, drug use, hatred…

Hatred is part of a long list of corruptions.

Proverbs 26:26 While their hatred may be concealed by trickery, their wrongdoing will be exposed in public.

God won’t let them get away with tricking and hating people. He will expose it in public.

Leviticus 19:17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him.

Mean People Suck

Hatred leads to the hater doing evil.

1 Samuel 17:42 And when the Philistine looked and saw David, he disdained him,

Goliath hated David, as well as all of Israel and we know what happened to him.

So what’s the solution to all this hatred?

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

God Isn’t Fair

A seated, listless child, who was among many k...As far as I’ve learned about recorded history, there has always been world hunger and homelessness.  There’s always someone who’s in great need and someone else with more than enough.  I’ve asked the same question that many of us ask, “If there is a God Why Doesn’t He Do Something?  Why did God give some people so much and others so little?  God isn’t fair!”

Q: Did God give some people wealth so they could flaunt it and look down there noses at those who are poor?

One day, I received the answer.

2 Corinthians 9:11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

1 Timothy 6:17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.

Proverbs 22:9 A generous person will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.

Proverbs 11:24 One person is generous  and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should  and comes to poverty.  11:25 A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied.  11:26 People will curse the one who withholds grain, but they will praise the one who sells it.

Hebrews 13:16 And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

A:  God gave wealth to some people so they would generously give to those who don’t have what they need.  So it’s not God being unfair, it’s those of us who have but don’t give!  Many of us still haven’t learned this.

Satanism Is Boring

Once, I was curious about Satanic rituals so I did something dangerously stupid.  I watched a Satanic priestess perform a ceremony and lived to tell.  The Satanic temple was just a plain room with no symbols on the walls but there were some big candles in dim lighting.

The priestess wore a bright orange robe with a hood.  I don’t know if the color was significant or maybe she just felt “orange” that day.  She wore no make up and had long stringy bleach blonde hair.  This woman was ice-cold and didn’t even introduce herself.

The priestess began by standing in front of the congregates and chanting in a monotone voice, “Satan is great and powerful.  Oh, great Satan, you are god.  Come to us Satan.  Satan is here.”  She alternated between slow and hypnotic to screaming the same words then back to slow and hypnotic again. Whenever she screamed, she raised her arms up almost like Count Dracula did in old movies as he pulled up his cape then turned into a bat.

During the screaming chants, she appeared to have a contorted face for brief moments.  Not purposefully contorted movements like twisting one’s mouth but contorted in ways that are not humanly possible.  I don’t know an apt way to describe it except, that it was an unnatural jaw extension, or an expansion of her head, eyes moving in an unnatural way in a split second.  Not rolling back in her head, nothing like the Exorcist. Things that are impossible for humans to do.

This hypnotic alternating scream session went on for more than 5 minutes.  But it seemed like hours. It was largely boring and left me feeling like I was back in school. The teacher is up in front of the class talking in a slow monotone then suddenly screams at a kid for passing notes.  It was like that.

There was nothing of substance there. It was just repetition of a few words and phrases.  What was the point?  It looked like she was inviting Satanic spirits to the ceremony and using hypnotic techniques to permit satanic possession of the congregates.  How does one explain the contorted facial movements?  Simple, she was possessed.  How did it end?  No idea, because unlike in school, I was able to leave so I did.

I know that demonic possession is real because it’s in the Bible.  I do not recommend watching satanic ceremonies in person or on TV because it’s possible for evil spirits to enter us as we watch.  Had I known it was going to be like school I would never have watched.  School was a boring Hell for me.  As I said, it was dangerously stupid to watch.

Bottom line, Satanic rituals are not about edifying people or entertainment but sneaking evil spirits into our lives.

From the Christian Post:”Mexico’s epidemic of violence first erupted in 2006, according to most accounts.  But an ex-Muslim from India, who serves as a Christian pastor along the  Texas-Mexican border, believes the problem began much earlier, with human  sacrifice, witches, and the adoration of death in ancient Aztec days.”

“In addition to the almost 50,000 estimated to have died in Mexico’s drug violence, another 10,000 have disappeared without a trace. Many of these, Elijah is convinced, are the victims of Satanic rituals that require human sacrifice.”

I’m Offended

Nick's cut tongue

“I’m so offended!  How dare you say that to me!  That’s unforgivable.   What did she say that for?  I got so mad at those stupid people, I cussed them out.  He stole my ideas, that bastard!”

offense results in slander = wound / injury resulting in sickness

“She gave me that look again.  What did that idiot say this time?  I hate him!  To hell with you. You’re such a screw up.  I hope that guy dies this time, he’s a jerk!”

Psalms 64:3 They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows.

“Shut up looser. Here she comes again rattling about that new car. I’m so sick of dealing with these people.”

Just a sample of some of the slanderous things we say about and to others.  I’ve said them and worse things than this.  We’re all guilty of saying and thinking such things.  Problem is, we might as well burn ourselves with acid every time we get offended at others because we do physical harm to ourselves as well as the other party.

Psalms 64:8 Their slander will bring about their demise.  All who see them will shudder,

Our evil words do us harm. We become sick, get sores in our mouths, heart attacks and so much more.  The people who have offended us may or may not get sick but we ultimately do.

Feeling sick

Feeling sick (Photo credit: tö)

I’ve just learned how getting offended injures us and causes illness watching Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural [watch it here].

Whenever we feel offended we usually start bad mouthing someone.  According to the Bible, slander is essentially evil speech against others.  An offense is feeling insulted.  It doesn’t matter if it’s justified or not.

“I hate that creep for what he said.  That woman is so crazy she has to take pills or she’d be in a rubber room.”

Psalms 101:5 I will destroy anyone who slanders his neighbor in secret.  I will not tolerate anyone who has a cocky demeanor and an arrogant attitude.

“I hate the way they talk about how smart their kids are.  That bitch is so mean to everyone.  She has no business owning her own home.”

Psalms 26:22 The words of one who says evil of his neighbor secretly are like sweet food, they go down into the inner parts of the stomach (BBE).

The stomach digests food then sends nutrients out to every cell in the body.  If we eat bad food,  not only can it upset our stomachs but it can do harm to every part of our bodies.

Psalms 15:2 Whoever lives a blameless life, does what is right, and speaks honestly. 3 He does not slander, or do harm to others, or insult his neighbor.

“Boss, that guy you hired is a stupid, lazy jerk who can’t do anything right.  She made me feel bad about myself at the meeting.”

Proverbs 30:10 Never slander a worker to the employer, or the person will curse you, and you will pay for it (NLT).

“Want to know what she told me?  He spends every night at a different woman’s house.”

Proverbs 11:13 The one who goes about slandering others reveals secrets, but the one who is trustworthy conceals a matter.

“Can you believe he spent all of his savings on a motorcycle?  I ought to report all of them for breaking the rules.”

Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart come evil ideas, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

“That’s not fair!  I had to pay why shouldn’t they?  Everybody always hurts me!  They just let their kids do anything.”

2 Timothy 3:3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good

“I hate them!  I hate that ugly car he drives.  I’ll never forgive those horrible people for the things they said about me!”

1 Peter 2:1 So clean house!  Make a clean sweep of malice and pretense, envy and hurtful talk (MSG).

“You can’t tell my child to stay off your property!  Your dog crapped on my lawn so here it is.”

2 Peter 2:11 yet even angels, who are much more powerful, do not bring a slanderous judgment against them before the Lord.

“What did she mean by that remark?  Is he making fun of me?  They don’t respect me.  Damn them.”

Proverbs 19:11 A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

“She put a candy wrapper on my desk again.  Well, no big deal.  I know she’s not paying attention to her own actions.  If she does it again I’ll show her the trash can.  It’s really just small potatoes.”

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

“Pardon me, I didn’t mean to step on your foot.  Please forgive me.”
